Medusa and Oxid eShop: PunchOut for two more platforms

The PunchCommerce plugin ecosystem is growing. In addition to the existing connections for Shopware, Magento, Spryker, JTL and Vendure, two more shop systems will be available from June:

Medusa is a modern, headless commerce framework based on Node.js, which is increasingly being used in the B2B sector. With the new PunchCommerce plugin, you can connect your Medusa shop to the procurement systems of your key accounts via the gateway mode - via OCI, cXML or IDS Connect.

Oxid eShop is an established e-commerce platform that is widely used by German-speaking SMEs. Here too, the plugin enables a direct PunchOut connection without the need for extensive adjustments to the existing shop.

Neither plugin is currently available via external stores. You can request the appropriate plugin directly via our website:

New feature: Product-related comments in PunchOut

Some requirements cannot be mapped in standard attributes. Configuration notes, delivery specifications, individual specifications - this information often ends up in the e-mail inbox instead of in the procurement process.

With the new comment feature, there is now a defined way to do this.

How it works

In the PunchCommerce admin, you can mark individual products as commentable using a toggle. If the flag is active, shoppers will see a free text field with up to 4,000 characters next to the "Add to basket" button in the storefront.

The comment entered is saved in the shopping basket item and is available in the PunchOut field mapping as items.comment. This means that you can integrate the comment directly into the cXML output - without additional adjustments to the rest of the setup.

Who is this relevant for?

Typical use cases:

  • Configurable products** where buyers want to specify variants or versions
  • Delivery specifications**, e.g. preferred delivery days or partial deliveries
  • Individual requirements** that cannot be mapped in standard catalogue fields

Technical details

The feature is fully integrated into the import API and the OpenAPI specification. Commentable products can therefore also be managed programmatically - for teams that maintain product data automatically or integrate it via interfaces.
