This means that we cover all three relevant PunchOut protocols on one platform. 09.04.2026 · Reading time 3 minutes ![New in PunchCommerce: Full IDS Connect support for all shop systems](/storage/media/journal/2026/2026-04-ids-connect-schnittstelle-jetzt-verfuegbar-fuer-alle-shopsysteme.png) What does that mean in concrete terms? -------------------------------------- IDS Connect - short for "Integrated Data Interface" - is the protocol used by tradesman software and wholesale ordering systems to integrate product catalogues from suppliers. If your customer is in the HVAC or electrical wholesale trade, he will require precisely this protocol from you - not OCI, not cXML. The specification is maintained by [ITEK GmbH](https://www.itek.de/beratung/ids-connect/) in co-operation with industry associations such as the ZVSHK and the Bundesverband Bausoftware. You can now fulfil this requirement with PunchCommerce. And not as a slimmed-down version, but with the full range of functions that you already know from our OCI and cXML support. What exactly is new? -------------------- **Both operating modes available** You can use IDS Connect both in Gateway Mode and in Hosted Catalog: - **Gateway Mode:** Your existing online shop remains the leading data source. PunchCommerce translates in the background into the IDS Connect format - without any adjustments to your shop. - Hosted Catalog:\*\* You don't have your own webshop? No problem. Upload your article data via .xlsx, .csv or .xml. PunchCommerce provides the catalogue including the shop interface. **Full field mapping and data transformations** Our field mappings also work with IDS Connect. You map your shop attributes - EAN, SKU, short description, prices - to the IDS Connect fields. Transformations such as `AppendTo` or `If` conditions work as usual. And if a mandatory field in your shop is empty, the configured fallback value is used. **All shop systems compatible** Whether Shopware, Magento, Spryker, JTL, Vendure or Medusa - IDS Connect support works with any of our plugins. Installation and basic configuration remain as simple as you are used to: Activate plugin, configure, done. Who is this relevant for? ------------------------- IDS Connect is particularly in demand where trade businesses procure their materials digitally. Popular trade software solutions such as Hottgenroth, STREIT, das-programm.io, Landrix or G.O.L.D. rely on IDS Connect as an interface to their wholesalers. Large wholesalers such as Raab Karcher already actively offer the interface.
